Award of grant from ‘Big Lottery Fund’

Swalcliffe Village Hall have been successful in obtaining a grant from the ‘Big Lottery Fund’ The £4 thousand grant is for the supply and installation of thermal insulation to the ceiling/ roof void area of the hall, this generous grant will enable us to retain the heat and thus enhance the comfort of hall users during the colder parts of the year, whilst viewing films, holding meetings or during presentations.

The committee have been busy raising money but with a major effort in the small village to raise money for the church tower appeal it has not been easy.

We received a very welcome grant in February that enabled us to supply and install audio visual equipment to show films and also a hearing loop.

This award means the hall will be much more comfortable during the colder parts of the year, our fuel bills will be less and our carbon footprint will reduce.

The Big Lottery Fund distributes half of the National Lottery good cause funding across the UK. The Fund aims to enable others to make real improvements to communities and the lives of people most in need. www.biglotteryfund.org.uk
